OUR PHILOSOPHY
“The side effect of yoga is health.” — David Goulet, Pyramid Yoga, Thailand
Most people don’t know how great they are supposed to feel in their bodies.
We have been taught to override, to push through, to numb out and to keep going. Yoga, practised properly, teaches the opposite. It invites you to listen more closely to the parts of yourself that are trying to speak, to breathe through discomfort, and to return to yourself with greater awareness and care.
At hOHM, yoga is more than a physical practice. Postures are one doorway into a wider system that includes breath, meditation, mantra, energy awareness, reflection and rest.
Our approach honours the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual dimensions of being. We use movement to build strength and body awareness, breath to cultivate steadiness, meditation to develop presence, and reflection to understand the patterns that shape how we live.
The practice is not about escaping everyday life. It is about meeting life with more awareness. Over time, yoga can help you notice when you are pushing too hard, recognise the habits that no longer serve you, and create a little more space between what happens and how you respond.
Every class is an invitation to slow down, feel more deeply and reconnect with your own inner wisdom — so that the benefits of practice can travel with you beyond the mat.
At hOHM, we believe yoga should help you feel more at home in your body, more present in your life and more connected to the person you are becoming.
